THIS IS A SITE FOR READERS.  HERE YOU WILL FIND THE AUTHOR'S FIRST OFFERING OF THE ACTION THRILLER:   © "CHASING THE TRUTH".

THIS IS A FIVE STAR READER-RATED ACTION ADVENTURE THAT TAKES YOU INTO THE WORLD OF ESPIONAGE AND TREASON. THE WORLD'S MOST POWERFUL DRUG IS ABOUT TO FALL INTO THE WRONG HANDS! THE CHASE IS ON AND SPECIAL FORCES HAVE THEIR ORDERS: OBTAIN THE DRUG... AT ANY COST!

What A Reviewer Had To Say:

The plot is first-rate, with satisfying twists.

I found myself caring about the characters and willing myself not to skip pages when the action became really exciting.

I kept visualizing the story as a screenplay because it was so vivid; a drive in the summer through the British Columbia Interior is hot, hot, hot, while the tumultuous thunderstorm the hero's pursuers go through is wet, wet, wet.

I hope Barry Davies has another book in him. I would like to follow his characters through a few more adventures.

FROM FEMALE READERS:

I especially like it when a book grabs me from the beginning as this one did. It had just enough mystery, action and intrigue. It reminded me of a Grisham novel. I thought it was terrific and I'm looking forward to his second book.

FROM MALE READERS

This book would make a great movie!  I myself am not a book reader, but once I got reading it I had a hard time putting it down. What a great story and what a great movie it would make!

Jesse Harris is the nicest guy in the world. He works in a pharmaceutical lab in Washington State. Under a Department of Defense contract, he has proudly developed an important drug, code name: “Precise”, for the treatment of post traumatic stress syndrome and other psychiatric disorders that will have a profound effect in the field of medicine.

Developed to assist war vets in revealing past horrors of the mind, “Precise” allows physicians to empty a patient’s mind, and their memories. It allows physicians to hear the truth and all that they remember. The truth...and nothing but!

Jesse Harris’ world collapses in a matter of hours however as he discovers that the CIA, the Pentagon, and even the Justice Department have secretly administered his experimental drug to humans. His wonder cure has now become the most dangerous drug on earth. Unbeknownst to Jesse, even the President of the United States is in jeopardy.

It suddenly dawns on Harris just how dangerous “Precise” is, and his mind cannot deal with the sudden impact and change that the drug could inflict on society. Harris takes the only action that he thinks is open to him, he makes copies then erases the computer memory banks; taking the copies and samples of “Precise” out of the lab.

Harris has no course of action. He knows that when he is discovered, his job and reputation will all be lost. It hits home that he has just committed a federal felony. He turns to the only friend he has, Craig Fletcher, a suspended police officer with enough problems of his own, and Fletcher agrees to help his friend until they can make everything public. To safeguard the samples, Fletcher and his wife agree to hold them and to split from Jesse Harris in case he is caught.

Craig Fletcher, his wife, Jennifer, have no idea what they have taken on. They are labeled as terrorists and the Pentagon directs Special Forces and every police force in the nation to look for them. They are the targets. They are locked into a nightmare formed from a split decision with a friend. How deep does friendship go?

This is a story about courage, and personal hardship. It takes the reader into the world of high government, policing, and organized crime. It is a story showing the strength of the American people. It is also a story of friendship, a friendship that could be very costly.

Lieutenant General Randolph Miller left the officer's dining room at the Pentagon in a foul mood, and headed back to his office in answer to a page. He had been looking forward to a leisurely lunch followed by a round of golf, but he knew he probably could kiss that idea goodbye. He simply did not get a page unless it was important.

Miller was director of Defense Advanced Research Projects; (DARP), which included Biochemical Advanced Research Testing; (BRAT) officed in Arlington, Virginia. He also had office space in the Pentagon.

The corridors were practically deserted due to the weekend routine, and although Miller was almost used to the structure, he couldn't get over the fact that someone had the gall to build an office building with six million, five hundred and forty thousand square feet of office space; and not an elevator to be seen anywhere.

Sitting down to his desk, slightly out of breath because of his five foot ten, one hundred ninety pound frame, he re-lit the cigar he had been enjoying when his pager had gone off. Punching the glowing light, he growled, "Miller here, Sir."

"Yes sir, General Miller this is Major Strickler, Sir."

"Ah," Miller said somewhat relieved. "This better be good. In fact it better be bloody important to have interrupted what I was doing." Miller could detect the pause before Strickler answered, and knew he wasn't going to like what was coming.

"I'm sorry, sir. There has been a major development in connection with our program. ... Ah, General could I ask if your phone is secure?"

Miller reached over and activated a switch, leaned back and puffed on his cigar, dropping ash down the front of his immaculate uniform. "All right, get on with it Major."

"Yes, sir. It's to do with 'Precise'. We've had a serious security breach at the lab in Maple Falls."

Miller sat forward, the blood draining from his face, dreading to hear how much of a security breach had taken place. This was his ass on the line here. "Go ahead," he said in a strained voice.

"It can't get much worse, Sir. The whole thing is gone. The..."

Miller burst out, "What do you mean, Mister, by 'the whole thing is gone'?" Miller could hear Strickler take a deep breath before answering the question.

"On Friday,..."

"Friday!" Miller exploded. "Something happened on Friday and you're just getting around to telling me now?"

"Please, Sir... General I have a lot of information to pass on to you."

"Okay Major, you just go ahead and spell it out. Spell it out nice and clear." Miller flipped a switch and started the tape recorder.

"On Friday, Grant made a routine call to our agent in place - Hank Corey, and when he did, Corey was giving him some strange answers. We paid a visit and found out that he had been given the experimental drug. He told Jesse Harris, the person in charge of the lab project, about the military application and the field testing for the Justice Department."

There was no interruption, just silence on the line, so Strickler continued. "When we arrived, Corey was alone and Harris was gone. Along with the samples, discs, and.. I'm afraid all the information on 'Precise'"

"Oh my, God!" Miller whispered to himself.
